About 600 members of Nomiya Church congregate in Kisumu with a message of peace

 About 600 members of the Nomiya church have gathered in Kisumu where they have preached messages of peace for the country as it heads to the polls in August.

Led by the Arch Bishop of Nomiya Church Moses Oketch, the church members said the essence of have a peaceful country during the electioneering period is very important.

Addressing the congregants during their Synod Conference at Kasagam Secondary school, the Nomiya Church Arch Bishop said the forth coming General election should leave Kenya a united Nation and not a divided one.

Arch Bishop Oketch says the Elections should never be a weapon to divide Kenyans but one that fully unites it.

He says after the August 9 polls, Kenyans will still need to leave like brothers and sisters, adding that elections should help the country to get good leaders.

“When we fight over the elections, it means that we are not reasonable at all. We must be reasonable enough and realize that Elections is just a process that help us to get leaders but not a process to divide us,” Arch Bishop Oketch says.

He has appealed to members of the church to concentrate of meaningful activities that will help them earn a living and not to engage in politicking at all times.

He has further hinted that the two factions in the church will soon be reaching a consensus and will reconcile with an aim of working together for the further growth of the church.

The Nomiya Church Arch Bishop has further appealed to the Boda Boda Operators to kindly listen to those who are trying to ensure that they are organized and engage in meaningful activities that will help in uplifting their standards of living, adding that such a person is their true friend.

“Whoever is telling the Boda Boda operators to form Saccos and other organized groups like welfare associations is a true friend to then other than the one urging them to stone the police,” he adds.

He adds that the Boda Boda operation is just like any other good business and if well-organized can help in changing many lives of Kenyans.
