Kisumu Boys Fraternity eulogizes the fallen Gallant chief Principal

The Kisumu Boys High School has today greatly eulogized its fallen Chief Principal in a requiem mass well attended by people from all walks of life.

At the school’s play ground near the refurbished swimming pool, a number of dignitaries thronged the place to bid farewell to Kisumu Boys High School Chief Principal Peter Ouma Obuogo who passed on nearly three weeks ago on February 12 this year at Aga Khan Hospital.

Led by the Acting Principal Eric Duya, President of Kisumu Boys High School Alumni Foundation Lawyer James Mwamu and the Board of Management Chairman Prof Charles Nyakiti among other dignitaries, the mourners eulogized the fallen Chief Principal as a true icon who has passed on at the time he is needed the most.

President of Kisumu Boys High School Alumni Foundation Lawyer James Mwamu said death has robbed the school a very good administrator, a true hard worker and a performer to the core.

Mwamu says for the last three years he has worked with Obuogo since his posting to the school in January 2019, he has greatly helped in developing the school within a very short time.

Mwamu who has declared his interest to vie for the Kisumu East Parliamentary seat on ODM Party ticket says the school will surely miss the Chief Principal whom he has described as a darling to many students, teachers, parents and the subordinate staff.

“Truly, Kisumu Boys High School has lost a great man as the Chief Principal Mr Peter Ouma Obuogo. It will take time to get one to fit into its shoes since the gap he has left is very wide indeed,” Mwamu says.

Acting Principal Eric Duya who has been deputizing the late Chief Principal has described his immediate former boss as a good listener who always consulted on many issues with various cadres of people.

He has described as a very dedicated teacher who was always an early riser and arriving to his office as early as 5:00 am and working late up to midnight before he could retire to bed.

He says Obuogo was always for the school to get the best even in terms of academic performance.

“Our Captain Mr Obuogo always wanted the school to be on top of things including in academics hence this is a challenge to our this year’s KCSE Candidates to work extra hard and achieve good academic performance in the forthcoming exams. This will be in his honor,” he says.

He says they have worked the shortest time but he has received the best experience from his former boss.

“I have never seen a man so consultative as Peter. Because of this, we have moved this school in terms of correcting our Children on matters of discipline. He has been a great man and a strict disciplinarian,” Duya says.

Peter Obuogo, the Chief Principal of Kisumu Boys High school {Now Kisumu School} died three weeks ago at Aga Khan after being admitted there on February 8 this year.

He will be buried at his home in Matayos constituency in Busia County on Saturday March 5 this year.

He was to retire from the teaching service last month and was expected to declare his interest for the Matayos Parliamentary seat where he would have participated in the General Election slated for August this year.
