Kisumu County Assembly Clerk feted as the best performer in Nyanza region

The County Assembly of Kisumu has celebrated its Clerk who has been feted as the best performer in the six county Assemblies in Nyanza region.

This follows the recent survey by the Fourth County Gala Awards that declared the County Assembly of Kisumu Clerk as the best performer among his five colleagues from five County Assemblies in the Nyanza region.

Owen Ojuok, an advocate of the High Court of Kenya, the Clerk to the County Assembly of Kisumu has now been feted as the best performing Clerk in Nyanza region which has six County Assemblies namely Kisumu, Siaya, Migori, Homa Bay, Kisii and Nyamira.

He has been feted at a ceremony held last weekend at Sarova White Sands Beach Hotel in Mombasa and presided over by the Pakistan High Commissioner to Kenya Saqlain Syedah.

During the event, the winners were awarded certificates, trophies and Gold plated wall plaque by the County Gala Awards.

The Clerk to the County Assembly of Kisumu has attributed the great success to the transformation the county Assembly has had in terms of development and the peace it currently enjoys which has assisted in administration.

He says this has enabled the County Assembly of Kisumu to effectively perform its legislation, representation and oversight role effectively.

Currently, the County Assembly of Kisumu has undergone facelift that has seen it get new face during the tenure of its current Clerk.

During his tenure as the Clerk to the County Assembly of Kisumu, Ojuok has also implemented the construction of the Speaker of the County Assembly of Kisumu official residence which is currently at  97 percent.

Last Month, the County Assembly of Kisumu led by its Speaker Elisha Jack Oraro and the Clerk Owen Ojuok launched the ground breaking ceremony of the construction of the ultra-modern County Assembly that is going to cost an estimated shs 448 million.

Upon its completion, the new facility will be able to provide more adequate working space for members of the County Assembly of Kisumu.

The new facility will be able to accommodate 64 Members of the County Assembly {MCAs} plus the entire staff of the County Assembly.  

Also feted during the same event in Mombasa is Kondele Ward Member of the County Assembly of Kisumu Joachim Oketch Omieno popularly known as Swagga as the best performing Member of the County Assembly in Nyanza region.

“Glory goes to Almighty God, My Party ODM, My Family, All team Swagga Members, My colleagues and the great people of Kondele Ward who have been very supportive,” Swagga says in his face book post immediately after the event.
