Politicians urged to shun utterances Bordering on hate speech


Politicians across the country have been urged to fully shun utterances that borders on hate speech as the country heads to polls in August this year.

 

Kisumu East Parliamentary aspirant on ODM party ticket  James Aggrey Mwamu said utterances that are aimed at dividing Kenyans along ethnic lines should be avoided at all cost.

 

Addressing the residents of Manyatta B Area in Kisumu East Constituency during his meet the people tour,Mwamu has underscored the need for politicians to campaign peacefully devoid of hate speech and without mudslinging fellow politicians.

 

Mwamu at the same time urged all the ODM Party members in Kisumu East Constituency to turn up in large and participate in the party's nomination exercise slated for April 21.

 

He adds that they should do so and nominate leaders of their choice during such an exercise.

 

He has appealed to the ODM party members to nominate him and be its flag bearer in Kisumu East for the Parliamentary seat, adding that he has what it takes to be the next Member of Parliament for area.

 

He says he will fully represent the Constituency at the National Assembly and its voice will be heard through him by contributing to the debates before the  House.

 

He says his priorities are on uplifting the standards of Education within the entire Constituency as well as food security.

 

He says he will champion a people's driven strategic Plan involving all the electorates publicly participating in its formation and implementation.
