show good performance in KCPE Exams
A SECTION of both
private and public schools in Kisumu County have showed impressive performance
as the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams results is announced.
A spot check by this writer in a number of primary schools
both private and public indicate that most of them have posted good results.
Makini School in Kibos area which is outskirt of the Kisumu
City Center managed to get the Second best Nationally Momanyi Ashley Kerubo who
scored 427 marks out of the possible 500 marks.
At Mudasa Academy, 51 students got 400 marks and above with
Nicole Zawadi becoming the best after attaining 423 marks.
Addressing the media at the school, a director Velma Mudanyi
said the school registered a total of 102 candidates for the year 2021 KCPE.
She says the candidate who has received the lowest marks in
the exams has managed 367 marks.
Mudanyi has said that the school has posted a mean of 399.4
in the year 2021 KCPE Exams as compared to KCPE exams 2020 where it posted a
mean of 397.
She has thanked the entire staff, candidates, parents and
other stakeholders for their full support in achieving the exemplary results.
At the Golden Elite School which is also a private school, a
total of 27 candidates managed 400 marks and above with its top candidate
getting 418 where there was a tie in that marks.
One of the candidates who scored 418 marks is a twin whose
brother has also scored 412 to give the school sterling performance in the KCPE
Exams.
It was joy and ululation at the school when the twin
brothers joined fellow candidates in celebrating their good academic
performance.
Both the 14 year old Amani Samuel who scored 418 and his
twin brother Imani Joel who scored 412 attributed their sterling performance to
hard work, respect to God, and cooperation from both teachers, parents, support
staff and fellow candidates.
“We want to sincerely thank God for this sterling
performance and ask Him to continue protecting us plus all the candidates who
have sat the exams and will proceed to secondary schools,” they say.
The school registered a total of 79 candidates for the year
2021 KCPE as compared to the year 2020 where they registered 94 candidates.
At M M Shah Primary which is a public school, the top candidate Felix Makomere, 14 managed to score 414 marks followed closely by Mary Ann Anyango who scored 412 marks.
According to the head teacher of the school Michael Oriedi,
the school registered 312 in this KCPE Exams as compared to 322 candidates in
2020.
He has attributed the good performance to hard work by
teachers and all the stakeholders.
At Xaverian Primary school, another public school, the
highest candidate managed 416 marks
The school’s head teacher says more than 30 candidate have
390 to 400 and above.
At Citam School, a total of 28 candidates sat the exams and
its top candidate Kambona Durrel Carson managed 414 marks with a tie of 408 by
two of its candidates namely Obare Nicole Nyakinda and Odhiambo Edgar Jeremy.
According to the school’s head teacher Paul Njoga, the
candidate who scored the lowered mark managed is 269 marks.
He adds that school has a mean score of 368.39 in the 2021
KCPE Exams.
St Ann's Ahero Primary school in Nyando Sub-county has its top candidate at 412 marks while Awasi Primary school's top candidate has managed 387 marks.
At Lili Vision Academy within Bandani in Kisumu West Sub-county, the leading candidate Mitchelle Atel has scored 388 followed by a candidate with 376 marks.
The School's Director Stephen Okello Hayo says the school has posted a mean score of 321, adding that it has a deviation of positive 27.
