Govt will continue to monitor the ongoing KCSE Exams till the end

The National Government through its multi-agencies continues to monitor the ongoing Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education {KCSE} Exams across the country.

The Principal Secretary in charge of Information, Communication, Technology and Innovation Jerome Ochieng says the exercise of monitoring the ongoing form four final exams will continue until all the exams papers are tackled by all the Candidates sitting the exams.

Addressing the press in Kisumu today after participating in the opening of the exam boxes at Kisumu Central Sub-County Container and witnessing the KCSE Candidates at Kisumu Girls high school tackling today’s first Exam papers, Ochieng said the Government Multi-agency approach in monitoring the national examinations has been very great.

The Principal Secretary confirmed the today’s exams in Kisumu Central Sub-County were intact before the official opening and were handed over to the center managers to take them to the exam centers.

He says the Government will continue to ensure the sanctity of the national exams and candidates do exams while getting the mean grades they deserve.

“This is an effort to ensure that the exams are clean and we will continue to encourage it so that our students are internationally recognized because of the sanctity of our exams,” he says

The National Government’s Multi-Agencies is comprised of Cabinet Secretaries and Principal Secretaries.

The PS Sentiments comes barely a few days after Education Cabinet Secretary Prof. George Magoha said in Kisumu from now henceforth, the Ministry of Education has banned the use of cellphones in the examination centers by those manning the exams except for two cellphones for emergency purposes.

“We have now only allowed the center manager and one security officer to have a cellphone in the examination center reason being there could be something that could be interactive or a candidate may fall sick hence there may be need for communications,” he said.

He added that the other persons manning the exams will leave their mobile phones at home while coming to the examination centers.

Magoha warned some people he has described as crooked who may want to attempt exposing the second examination paper not to try doing so because they won’t succeed because of the limited time.
